Great Lakes Physician Services was formerly known as University Occupational Health. Our name was changed as of January 2011. Great Lakes Physician Services continues to offer all the same occupational health services as the former "University Occupational Health" and MORE. David P. Hughes MD, continues to be the Medical Director of our occupational health practice.
Dr. Hughes is an accomplished physician as well as the owner/medical director of Great Lakes Physician Services. He has practiced Occupational and Travel Health and Emergency Medicine for over 14 years.
Dr. Hughes received his master's degree in public health from the Medical College of Wisconsin and his medical degree from UB. He currently holds a position at Kaleida Health as their medical director for employee health and is an attending physician in emergency medicine. Dr. Hughes is also an assistant clinical professor in emergency medicine for UB, as well the president of the Governing Board for the State University of New York at Buffalo (SUNY) Faculty Practice Management Plan.
Ms. Szetela has over 10 years experience in occupational medicine with 5 years experience in travel health. Before coming to work for Great Lakes Physician Services, Ms. Szetela worked as a Physician Assistant in the ECMC Emergency Department. She earned her degree from Daemen College in 2003.
Ms. Baumler attended D'Youville College where she earned her Bachelor and Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. After graduating in 2013, she transitioned from an Administrative Assistant at Great Lakes Physician Services to her current role as a Physician Assistant.
